Clinic ranking policy
This document describes how the order of clinics in the ranking is formed: which criteria are counted, with what weight, on what scale, and what never affects a position under any circumstances.
In this document
1. How a clinic enters the selection
The ranking includes clinics that meet three conditions at once:
- they are based in Kraków and see patients in person;
- they declare a surgical field — implantology, maxillofacial or orthognathic surgery, bone grafting — rather than restorative dentistry alone;
- they publish enough public data to be assessed against every criterion.
A clinic with insufficient public data is not included in the ranking, rather than being given a depressed score for missing fields. For the current edition 15 clinics were considered and eight made the publication.
2. The calculation formula
Final score = sum of (criterion score × criterion weight)
Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10. The weights total 100%. The result is rounded to one decimal place.
The order in the ranking is a sort by final score, descending. Positions are not set by hand and are not adjusted after the calculation.
3. Criteria and weights
The set of criteria was chosen for the topic of the article — oral surgery. For a ranking on another topic the set would be different.
| Criterion | Weight | What we assess |
|---|---|---|
| Breadth of the surgical department | 25% | Presence of maxillofacial and orthognathic surgery, implantology, bone grafting, sinus lifts |
| Own 3D diagnostics | 20% | CT scanner on site, intraoral scanner, digital surgical planning |
| Qualifications of the operating clinicians | 20% | The surgeon's specialisation, published profiles, years in practice |
| Anaesthesia | 15% | Availability of sedation and general anaesthesia, an anaesthetist on staff |
| Price transparency | 10% | A published price list versus individual quoting |
| Language accessibility | 10% | Consultations without an interpreter in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and English |
Weights may be revised when the ranking is updated. The values in force are always published here and in the methodology block on the ranking page itself.
4. The scoring scale
So that the scale is not arbitrary, each criterion has fixed definitions of what earns the extremes. An example for price transparency:
| Score | What it corresponds to |
|---|---|
| 10 | A full price list on the website with a price for every procedure |
| 7 | There is a price list, but by service group or in a «from» format |
| 4 | Individual «from» entries published |
| 0 | No prices, only «call us for details» |
5. Resolving equal scores
Where final scores match, the clinic with more confirmed reviews on independent platforms is placed higher. If that is equal too, the clinic that has been operating longer.
6. What does not affect a position
- Payment. A place in the ranking is not for sale. This site carries no advertising and accepts no payment either for a position or for a mention.
- A clinic's request. We correct factual errors in the data but do not raise a score on request.
- The size of a clinic's advertising budget or its visibility in search.
- Complaints from competitors. We do not remove or demote a clinic at another clinic's request.
- A clinic declining to speak to us. The score is built on public data and does not depend on whether the clinic replied.
7. Limitations of the method
We think it is fair to say what the ranking does not do:
- it does not assess treatment quality or clinical outcomes — that cannot be done from public data;
- it does not replace an in-person consultation and examination;
- it relies on what a clinic publishes about itself, and the volume of such publication varies;
- it reflects the state of the data on the collection date stated in the article.
A high position means the clinic matches the published criteria better than the others in the sample, not that it suits you personally. The treatment decision is made with a clinician.
8. Reviewing the ranking
The ranking is recalculated when the source data changes: a clinic opens or closes a field, changes its price list or its team of specialists. The date the data was current is stated in the article.
9. Enquiries from clinics
If you represent a clinic in the ranking and see an inaccuracy, write to redakcja@chirurgia-stomatologiczna-krakow-ranking.plwith a link to a source carrying the correct data. We will check and correct it. If the correction changes a criterion score, the result is recalculated using the same formula.
A clinic missing from the ranking can be suggested at the same address.
